Greetings new member from Perth Australia

Post by Haddock'sWhiskey »

Hi,

Former highland bagpiper, tin whistle and other instrument dabbler.

I had some cheap uilleann pipes bought for me a few years ago (well intentioned) I had a nice piper in Sydney NSW Australia take a look at them, he said that the chanter was about the only OK thing, the rest wasn't up to scratch: bellows, bag, drones, reeds should all be replaced which I am investigating doing on the relative cheap, I'd be looking for a half set, though funds are tight as I am a student.

He supplied me with a much nicer reed that he made and I fiddled for a few months but couldn't get everything together and sounding nice.

Any helpful advice? Any pipers in Perth WA?

I sent Ormond an email and tried his number but all I got was static from two different phones and no reply as yet to the email, I want to catch up with someone and pick their brain for a while, any other contacts in Perth?
