Does anybody know who the seller is? Admittedly anything is possible, but on the surface things don't add up.

He goes on and on about scammers, but he's only been an Ebay member for 11 days, with zero sales and zero feedback.

He says this isn't his first time on Ebay. So where's his feedback? His profile says this

https://www.ebay.com/usr/ttccollectable ... 7675.l2559

His account hacked?

It sends up red flags. Many things are possible. How about this one: a person screws over a bunch of people, racks up a load of negative feedback, shut down, and resurfaces with a new identity.

With their first sale a $12,000 item?

The asking price has increased from the first auction - from $10k to $12k.

Yes, the seller doesn’t inspire confidence. It would certainly help the sale if someone could vouch for the seller.

If the old account wasn't recovered and a new one started, the new one will, obviously, not have any feedback. That's how I read it anyway. When spending $12K on an auction , always approach with caution. Throwing that amount at anything without inspecting the instrument and verifying credentials would be silly. As Geoff suggested, it's, at any rate, an awful high price for an early NBD that originally went for under 20% of the opening bid.

As Mr. Gumby says " that's an awful high price for an early early NBD" !

Yes some of my later sets do sell at prices close to , or even above, my current new price but I would advise against spending too much on this older design. Post 1991 instruments, after a complete revision of the design of the narrow bore D , are a better bet.

Ray Sloan full set in D - collection from West Midlands. Seller says he will arrange courier if required, but prefers collection in person.

Yes, 'tis I, back after dealing with long standing medical issues.

Not back up to full speed yet, but I am currently starting a multi-bored 4 regulator Taylor style set. I'll keep you posted.
