Don't know about the key but I'd bet big Davy's house that the maker is Eugene Lambe.

I would say it's a Matt Kiernan chanter but The top is probably by another maker.

Aye. The blocks and turning are a total giveaway - unless it's the mystery maker who copied the Kiernan style, loads of whose chanters have been on Ebay lately. Come to think of it, I have an old mate with a Kiernan B flat which has a kinda similar (weird) top, with a long bent inlet tube.

Rogge plum and boxwood 4 keyed chanter in D - says collection in person, but seller says "I will post over seas after cleared payment and on top of purchase price buyer pays ebay/PayPal commission and pays appropriate postage and insurance" in the description section.

My reason for thinking that the chanter is the work of Eugene Lambe is that in the book "Irish traditional crafts" there is a chapter about Mr Lambe and on page 104 there is a photo of this very chanter hanging from a shelf with the caption ,chanters awaiting completion .Of course it still doesn't prove that he actually made it.

This looks like a nice set. I wonder if the “natural mounts” are the reason why it has trouble finding a new home.
