More of the County Louth pipemaker unfinished stuff.

Chanter in ebony or blackwood - at 16.5 inches it is probably a flat chanter.
Chanter in teak or cherry - at 14.25 inches this is probably concert pitch.
Chanter in ebony or blackwood - this one does not show up in my standard search, only if you go to the seller's shop. At 14.25 inches it is probably concert pitch.

The chanter has a popping valve, and C natural key.
Includes case and a couple of piping booklets.

Doesn't look like any Pat Sky set I've ever seen but then it could be a one-off. The box contains Pat's manual on the uilleann pipes. Maybe that is why his name is associated with the set. The seller isn't a piper.

Hi PJ

It looks like a Bayley chanter to me, with the Taylor style keywork.

Or a vintage chanter. I picked up an old Taylor-style chanter years ago at an antique shop for $100, the keys and popping valve still worked. It had an ancient shaved-down reed. It came with a Taylor-style bellows with valve-cover and some random stuff. Who knows how many old Taylor and Taylor-like pipes and parts are knocking around here in the USA.

Amazed you remember  (or that anyone noticed at all), probably haven't worn it since 1994/5, still have it though.

I spend too much of my time on Twitter, and have been neglecting my duties to the Church of Chiffle for too long.

In fairness to myself, I have been actually playing the pipes quite a bit lately, which is arguably better than just posting on social media about them, so that's not too bad.

Glad to see that Welgeleerde Dr Gumby still hasn't quite left the Hotel California, so that's at least one person here who will more or less remember who I am. I'll come to my reason for checking in in a separate post/thread but, in the meantime, I thought I might share a pic of my artwork on the case I use for my pipes (which is actually a crossbow case kindly sold to me for a very modest price by one of the French Ardenne pipers).

All I need is to get the photo from my smartphone onto this thread: what do I need to do to make this magic work?

One of the County Louth pipemaker's unfinished chanters.
Unfinished chanter in teak or cherry - 14.25" in length, so probably in D
