I normally would advise against polishing, haven't polished my own sets in a decade and they are still reasonably shiny, but in this case I would make an exception.

Tell us something.: I'm here because I just wanted to change my location... but it turns out much more complicated than I thought. Do I already have the 100 required characters?

Hi all
Just in case you missed this beautiful old set in need of work, not mine, but the seller has listed it without the word Uilleann, just Irish Pipes and a not so
clear makers mark that looks like Ross - Dublin, looks like Boxwood, with Drones as well, and worldwide shipping

The C hole has been plugged and redrilled.

The chanter looks like it has had an inch or two removed from the bell, or else it's a pastoral chanter without the foot-joint. In fact, looking at some photos of pastoral sets, I'm leaning towards the latter. The chanter top looks more modern, maybe the result of a 20th century restoration.

It wouldn't surprise me if the regs were made by Matt Kiernan, although he usually stamped his name on his work. Only 3 keys on the bari reg - no F#. And only 4 keys on the tenor reg.

The drones have the "Kenna" look.

Looks like it contains some ivory, so international sales will be difficult.

looks like the back D was moved on the unknown half set.

Looks pretty good quality, any suggestions of a maker?

It appears to be an extension for the low C to turn it into a sort of Pastoral pipe. Ghost D would need retuning to give a true D Note the slot at the end near the brass mount. Doesn't look like the brass mount is long enough to slide to close the slot but it might slide to cover the small hole. This my have been the original format and the slot put in later if it was designed to have a chanter that could be stopped. Different to what I have done and more recently Gilliis and his Uilleann foot joint although it could have been one of his early experiments. Back D has been plugged and moved.
