Is there no one close enough to go and play the set? Since the seller doesn't play, he might be willing to have someone give it a go just for the soundclips he could post to the advert.

Tell us something.: I want to start learning the Uilleann pipes, and this website comes up as the number 1 search result for information. I found pipes for sale on Ebay, but I also read on here that members say not to buy them. So, i'm a little confused on where, what and who to buy from. Hopefully if I can find a set I can find help on here about learning.

You could sign up to a parcel forwarding service. A lot of postal companies offer a service where you can shop in other countries , they provide an address in that country and than forward the purchase to your address.

Which ones do you mean, the Tremolieres? And why?
The development of flat pitched pipes has gone in two directions. Some makers have stayed faithful to the sound of the classic makers such as Coyne and Kenna (Union pipes) and some makers have in effect tuned down concert pitch pipes to make flat pitched pipes (Uilleann pipes).

I don't understand, are you saying these are bad pipes in your expert opinion? I'm new to uilleann piping and you sound like you make pipes?

Tell us something.: I am interested in various forms of traditional and folk music. I've been interested in Uilleann pipes for many years. And now I'm finally learning them!

Basically, there are differences in tone, timbre and volume between modern-style Uilleann pipes (roughly later 19th century and onward), and the older Union pipes; and this will also be apparent with contemporary pipes that follow each of these approaches in design.
Which type is better? Well, that will depend on your own preferences.

Well that's sensible...no takers on previous listings, so increase the starting bid by US$2000!

But he’s now accepting offers.

So he can take an offer of 2K off and still get his original price.
My brain hurts
