... The very bottom edge of the low d note hole at the bottom of the chanter was opened up a little to sharpen the pitch ...

The unknown D chanter looks familiar but I wouldn't think it's an early Froment. I just can't think of the maker now but it does really look very familiar.
It could well be a Dave Williams chanter... But Dave stamped his didn't he?

The bottom mount doesn't look like Lorcans work though....
I'd guess Williams. Thompson. or an Ian McKenzie Rowsome copy. I won't be buying it anyway. I have too many D chanters as it is.
