Ok! Here is my practise set, Williams boxwood (which arrived Saturday), MacHarg bag and a Lynch bellows... and I can hold a fairly long D!!

By the way, anyone have some Williams drones to go with this chanter?

Tony, I don't want to best the 16 year old, but I'm currently playing a "79 vintage Wooff in C. They are #12 which he made here in Perth Aust. I'll post some pics before I return them to my father.
Cheers,
Liam

Elbogo... great shots. You can see the trademark scalloped toneholes. Hey, that makes us 'boxwood' buddies. Much success with your set!

Liam, Is your C set also in boxwood? I'm pleased to hear of other Wooff vintage sets in existance. Do post the pictures for us to see. Rough calculations indicates he made about 7 sets a year back then.

This is a great thread...let's see if we can't keep it up! It would be great if we could get a "page" full* of pics of everybody's sets.

I've always said that the UP's are like living creatures with souls...now I have more evidence! We pipers are like a bunch of grannies showing off pictures of our grandkids!

"see...here's junior with his boxwood mounts and hand-rolled ferrules"

"ahh..now isn't he precious!"

:smile:

Tony, there is few of us out here in Perth with some old Wooff's. Hopefully I may be able to get pics of all of them. The set I'm playing is blackwood, silver and whales tooth ivory. Quite a fine looking set, that is once the silver has been polished!

Slan,
Liam O'Mara

I have a few pictures of old Wooff sets at http://www.uilleannobsession.com/diary_2002.html#bil

Any others would be great to see and possibly host on my site?

Patrick.

Elbogo, After a long wait it looks like congratulations are in order! Very nice practice set. Great photos too. I'm still waiting for my Rogge set.

Thanks Paul, but now I know the sweet agony of learning how to play, and let me tell you, it ain't easy, but it sure is wonderful! As I edited above, my chanter is telling me it needs some drones to go with it!

Seán Potts {plus Rogge set} casting pearls to the following swine at Strathspey in May '02 [left to right]:
Marc MacAn Fhilidh
Duncan MacInnes {Williams}
Rory O'Connell {O'Briain}
Vince Riordan {O'Briain}
and ME! {Rogge}

....I've just realised that Duncan was the only Scotsman there [rest Irish].

Edited to put in the text once I'd seen that the picture was visible.

Good heavens! That decor would subdue anybody's piping.

The decor was certainly ornate and bright, but then again, Seán's playing is too.
I didn't notice the decor until you pointed it out....I guess Seán must have been a clear winner!!

Who got frustrated with their bass drone and left the bend on the table? (bottom left of the picture)

Still cold from the UPS delivery truck. A Childress fullset in D. I bought these pipes used and had Bruce Childress perform some 'magic' to reburbish a few things.

Many thanks to BC Childress for the outstanding customer service.
