It's surprising the price isn't a lot higher given the time spent!!

These guys and gals are really artists. Think of all the combined skills that go into making a set of Uilleann Pipes. Keeping in mind that a great Pipemaker has to master all of those skills, there can't be a lot of people in the world who have that kind of discipline.

hay all.
on seth's waiting list for a concert pitch chanter with 4 keys, delivery in about 14-16 months at this point. will be learning with a daye PC in the meantime. i think the wait for seth is very reasonable compared to other makers. on the theory that each chanter he makes should be the best he has ever made, i do not mind the 12-18 he will make before he does mine. he is already very good from what i hear, but learning never stops.
my guess is that a new piper who puts in the time will be ready for drones about a year after starting on the chanter, so i will put myself in line for drones in about 6 months. in the meantime, having fun on the whistle.
