Benedict Koehler was inspirational for me. He has such a seemingly effortless style of playing and the music just flows from him. His workshop at the end of the day on Sunday was illuminating, in spite of the fact that everyone was a bit toasted by then. I'm glad that I was able to stick around until the end.

Thanks to Gabriel and Eileen for hosting the event once again.

I'd also appreciate any recording of the classes, I was too busy teaching a class myself as well as helping Ben document/video the event that I didn't attend any classes... It would also be useful to have the class recordings for the club archives. Please email me offline.

It was another great tionol.

I got the best of it as far as Jimmy is concerned. I was in Jimmy's class two years ago also and still feel the scars. I was glad to hear that he has was going to be at this tionol, but dreading being in his class again. I ended up in Patrick's class so I got to listen to Jimmy and not suffer abuse.

Jimmy is great to listen to when he is talking too. He is quite the storyteller.

As a side note, there were a lot of Belgian ale fans so I think I will make Belgian ale for the next tionol. Probably a Trappist, but maybe an Abby ale.

You must mean this guy, the ever infamous Mark Hillmann...
Now I'm not sure if this is the guy I saw or not? Was there more than one Taylor Bros set there?! :-?

There were at least three Taylor sets there... (Mark Hillman's, Barry O'Neill's and Ted Anderson's), though Mr. Hillman was only there for the Friday night party.

Hi all. I've posted Patrick's Sixpenny Money rendition, and his explanation of a Cran, played slowly, from the Sunday beginners session:

Enjoy!

I am given to the notion that it is The Blackberry Blossom, aka The Boys Of Ballynahinch. If I'm right, what do I win :) :) :) ?

Thanks Patrick and Tommy
My research indicates the tune as the Fairy reel or fairy dance but I can't seem to find this particular version which I am currently obsessing...the video is helpful but I am having difficulty getting it all through the drones...I see this as one of the tunes on sc site but its a dead link...anybody have this in ABC or perhaps can lead me to a clear version??? :-?

You're stuck on that title, aren't you Pat? :P The Fairy Reel on "Kitty Lie Over" is a different tune.

Mick O'Brien recorded it as The Strawberry Blossom on "The May Morning Dew." It's here as The Boys of Ballinahinch (thanks, Tommy!):
