Boston MFA talk on UP and Egan set

Post by goatpiper »

Hey all,

Now you'll know why I was inquiring about Egan...
I'm doing an informal talk on the pipes at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts at 11am Nov. 3. It will be held in the Music Instrument Gallery. The Egan set they have in the collection will be out to be viewed and talked about.
It's a great opportunity to see an old set up close...believe me, that's the best thing about this. I kinda stumbled into this thing, and am nervous as hell, so if anyone decides to come, don't tell me you're a piper until after the presentation, otherwise I'll be terrified.
Be aware that you'll have to pay the normal museum admission if you decide to come.

Cheers,
Aaron Welsh

Alright!
Did you find those letters of Brother Gildas's in the uilleann pipes mailing list archive? They were posted by Barry O'Neill.

Haven't had time to get them, yet...I will, though, Kevin. I need all the help I can get!

Actually they don't seem to be in the archives, whose earliest posted date is October 1997. They must have been posted before then.
I will type them up and send them to you in an email, along with some other items.
