Hi Ken,

I am just speculating really... most of this info was procured over pints galore therefore making the memory recall a tad off... possibly :) I know his B chanter is definitely not a Harrington, as far as I can remember he made it, if not at Hunter's then elsewhere... it sounds good and plays in tune and that's all that matters.... and I could be completely wrong :|

Good to hear he made the D himself.... it's a great sounding D chanter. My Preshaw has a similar reedy tone with a Michael O'Donovan reed in it. There's an old video available through Lark in the AM afaik called "Music of Ireland, Vol II" presented mostly by Finbar Boyle now of Claddagh Records then of the Folklore Comission. Made in the early 80's, it has some nice music on it... the nicest of which that I can remember (hazy) is a "session" at what I think is the pub out in Connolly(???) Kevin Glackin and Ronan playing away with an accordionist and fluther. Nice stuff and you get to see some nice close up's of the pipes... nice looking set, the same he's playing now as far as I can tell. Some really nice footage of Tom Lenehan talking about Willie Clancy and singing "Farewell to Milltown Malbay" on there too... short snippet of Micho Russell playing the Blackbird on the whistle too.. anyway...

Ronan Browne has a Johnny Bourke Full set wide bore D colour Black, I think he has a Peter Hunter Full set narrow bore D colour Brown B Harrington set with a B chanter he made himself which I didn't know to day.

He also plays a G chanter by Peter Hunter see photo at Davy Stephenson web site http://www.bagpipeworks.com/g_chanter.htm

Sean og Potts once had a Peter Hunter Full set D but now plays two Andreas Rogge full set in plumwood B and Ebony D

Guys,
Sean Potts has a full concert set by Peter Hunter which is "Rare"
since Peter only made three or four full sets.

Ronan Brown plays a narrow bore D chanter of Peter Hunters
with which set he plays it? at a guess probably the Johnny Burke
concert set tuned up, listen to the drone's and chanters,is his B set
not made by Peter Hunter, I think so, his own chanter he'll play
with the Johnny Burke concert set, this Harrington set might be
be pitched in D? I thought Harrington sets were mainly pitched
in C but there again I could be wrong I've heard tales a bout this
Harrington set having four drones and being pitched in D Hmm. 8)

Here's a picture of him playing the G on the NPU site:
http://www.pipers.ie/en/action.lasso?-D ... 36&-Search

Also give Tommpy Peoples' new CD "Waiting For a Call" a go at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... nnpipesobs Seán Potts does some handy playing on there too.

Okay... I'm done with this topic JAYZUZ!
