Hi
I have a pretty extensive repertoire of Highland pipe music for funerals and memorials. Any suggestions for the uilleann pipes would appreciated.
Thank you

Flowers of the Forest works really well. I know Blackie O'Connell has a version on one of this albums.

Challenging, but very rewarding: Táimse Im Chodladh (I am sleeping). Here is one rendition:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P40YOU8ggJk

Ag Críost An Síol (Christ's is the seed)
A simple tune to an appropriate poem that with a bit of talent can be a stunning and heartwarming performance.
Darragh Ó Héiligh does a wonderful rendition of this tune on his pipes.

Aisling Agnew with an equally beautiful interpretation on flute.

I think that is too slow and drawn out for me but perhaps I have the men from Cuil Aodha singing it at funerals imprinted on my mind as a reference version too much.MarcusR wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:55 pm Ag Críost An Síol (Christ's is the seed)

She seems unaware O'Riada composed the tune.

'Open the Door for Three' does "How Heavy is my fate" on their 'Joyful Hour' recording - AKA "This Gloom upon my soul" that is quite nice, slow and easy to learn, the text is on The Session.
Maybe I have the names reversed, it's the same tune.
