The digital Piobaire that arrived yesterday had an appreciative article by Nollaig McCartaigh on the recent death of MIck Slevin.
I often wondered what had become of Mick. He taught the beginners' class I was in at the 1980 Willie Clancy week. A nice man and patient teacher. He was on the scene for some years and then disappeared from view and I often wondered what had become of him. Last time I saw him Geoff Wooff and myself were walking up Grafton street some time during the mid eighties when we ran into him. 'howaya lads' he said and chatted briefly before rushing off to a job interview.
Sad to hear of his departure.
