Double toning

Has anyone encountered (what we in the Highland bagpipe fraternity call) "double toning" when starting to learn to play the regs? I am on my Williams set, and initially I thought it was mis hitting other keys or not holding the correct reg key down firmly enough but now I'm thinking it's because of too much or too little pressure being applied? Hopefully it's not a reed thing thing or a fault with the reg (bass). Any thoughts?

Can you post a sound sample?

Could it be that the keys need regulating so that depressing a key doesn't open the key above it ?

Thanks Rory

I think its just a case of matching the reed pressures to the chanter. I find my regs have to be hit in a specific way to sound correctly which takes a bit of getting used to.
