Full D set measurements question

Post by Pyper »

Hello everyone,
I'm curious about the lengths of Full D sets for putting in a case, with the bass drone top off. From the mainstock with bag, to the end of the furthest point.

If you could please measure and name your sets. It would be a great help.

I now have had 4 pipe cases, and just bought one that will fit on a plane better than the rest, and has backpack straps! I really love this case. It's just a bit snug, unless I take the bass reg off. My set is 63cm long

The manufacturer Bagpipe skin is wanting to make cases to suit our needs if possible.
I'm really impressed with this case, and if there is a "standard" length to work with, then this case is perfect.
I'll post pictures of how my pipes fit in it.

Ps
I'm not getting paid to say this, just very excited about the prospect of a case to fit my stuff in.
So, please let me know some measurements
Brandon :)

Here are pictures.
If you Google Bagpipe skin, you can see how cool this case is.
I'm not sure all D sets would fit like mine.. So, any measurements would help.

I think my pictures got blocked as spam?
I'm not advertising but wanting to help them, help us so we can have a good case.
I've had to buy cases for trombones, bass cabinets, and other instruments.
It would be better to have a case made for us.
After posting on Facebook, it looks like there are other case makers out there who need this info too.
Let me know if I should remove my post.

Mine is about 25" with the bass drone slide removed. It fits snugly into a case 24"x12"x5.5", when lying diagonally.

I'm still searching for the perfect case for my B 3/4 set. With the bass and baritone drone slides removed, I would still need just over 25" (say 64cm) for the baritone reg to fit straight. It's possible I could fit it diagonally in their existing cases, both of which are advertised as being 24" long on the inside. But I'd probably want to try it first.

It looks like they are located in the U.S., any idea where? Their contact page doesn't say.

I'm not sure where they are located. I've given them a few measurements of a few sets.
They are now working on a larger prototype.
I'll write back when I have more info.
But if anyone else has ideal measurements for a case, I can pass it on.
