Drones & chanters vol 2

Post by PJ »

I’ve been listening to D&CV2 recently and getting a new appreciation for Sean Potts’ piping. He has a very nice swing to his jigs and reels, and despite playing quickly, he doesn’t sound rushed.

His CD "Uilleann Pipes" is really good IMO. I found it pretty hard to track down a copy but definitely worth it. I'm not a huge fan of how his concert set sounds on that album but most of it is played on his flat set which he has sounding so in tune it's a real eargasm.

There's also a track on the new William Kennedy Piping Festival Vol 2 CD where he's really sounding great. Beautiful playing. A standout track on an album full of great recordings.

I definitely agree, he's so good.
