This lovely setting of the Ace and Deuce popped up on FB, played by Tommy and Pádraig Keane. Does anyone have any clue where it came from? I'm familiar with the other two settings, but this is a new one for me.

Another Ace and Deuce
Re: Another Ace and Deuce
Makoto supplied the answer:
Garett Barry via Nell Galvin?

He first heard this played by James Kelly and JOBM in WCSS years back.

Re: Another Ace and Deuce
There's the John Kelly version, that he got from Nell Galvin, which is up on the new JK website. I did hear JOBM and James Kelly play the tune as well. The version Paraic play is not exactly the same but memory may lead me astray there. I recorded Paraic playing the Garrett Barry version on the little Kenna a few years ago, pretty much the version from the GB book, but again, memory may wrongfoot me there and I didn't go to either the recordings or the book to confirm my thinking.

Don't see the Ace and Deuce on the Capel Street website.

Re: Another Ace and Deuce
That's odd, I heard a recording of him playing it in the past few months and the website seems the obvious place where I heard it. I did go over a few tapes I was going to digitise for Aoife but I am pretty sure it wasn't there. It must have been the website or perhaps Aoife's talk during Wilie?
Will Nell do?
