Some lovely old fillums

Post by Mr.Gumby »

Over on the flute forum this link was posted, pointing to some old footage of the Bothy Band from a program made for Norwegian television in 1978. Following the link however leads to the whole series of programs, at least two of them devoted to Irish music, including good bits of West Clare music, Junior Crehan, the Russells, Sets in Gleeson's of Coore and McCarthy's, A bit of Sliabh Luachra with Denis Doody and Donal O'Connor, long stretches of Liam OFlynn talking about the pipes. Much to explore, and enjoy. Great programs on Norwegian music as well.

Thanks for that link. The section on the Bothy band is particularly good. Paddy Keenan was adding in some lovely bits in the live performance.
