Liam O'Flynn's first album (LOF1)

Post by liestman »

Anyone know where I can get a copy of Liam O'Flynn's first album (the one from about 1988 that came out on vinyl only, self titled and self produced)? I have been searching high and low for it. The number is LOF1.

It comes up on ebay occasionally, vinyl as well as cassette.

I thought The Fine Art of Piping was his first?

That was probably the earlier one. But impossible to find even when it came out first. Only when it made it onto Cd there was a slightly wider circulation.

Didn't a lot of people call the other one BOF1? Image
I certainly heard that used a few times.

Tell us something.: I'm here because I just wanted to change my location... but it turns out much more complicated than I thought. Do I already have the 100 required characters?

The booklet of "The Fine Art of Piping" says, recorded at Blue Strike, Harrogate, October 1989, whereas the self-titled album was released in 1988.

2 of the earliest piping albums I ever bought and much loved.
Mr Gumby should bring out a solo piping album, I've been listening to a recording of him I made at Listowel a couple of years ago, lovely stuff
