Bellows tacks..best remedy?

Post by rgouette »

Just curious, I noticed yesterday that my Ballard bellows has a few tacks coming completely out of the cheek.
I'm curious how folks choose to shore it up: do you poke a new hole?(that would of course offset the pattern)
Or a glue?

thoughts?

Cut a section of cocktail stick of appropriate length. Dip section in wood glue. Place and tap into hole drilled as above.

Trim off when dry, and drill to a diameter undersize of replacement pins/tacks.

Tap in new tacks (or if perfectly straight, old tacks) with light a hammer.

Bingo.
