Howdy, is Gordon Galloway still making pipe?
I noticed his website is pretty Squirrley, and the Facebook site is fairly stale ..

Gordon is most definitely making pipes. I was with Gordon just on Thursday and he was finishing off a lovely full set .

ooh that's good to hear!

I know that it's not uncommon for makers to not have a ton of time to devote
to online/social media development.
It's probably better for the art that way

thanks,

Yes he certainly did, but as most pipe makers he's adapted and gone on to develop what he learned and produces his own pipes. Similar to O, Briain but with his own personal touches and developments.

I assume it's in a similar bracket to O'Briain's other apprentice Andy Faden (who has 2015/16 prices on his website).

Tell us something.: I want to be part of an online uilleann piping community. I play a Mickey Dunne half set. I did a semester at UL and got my introduction to uilleann piping from Blackie O'Connell. I'm a convert from GHB. Currently in Colorado.

Does anybody know if in fact Andy Faden and Gordon Galloway's regulators are the same? I've got a half set and I'm considering both for regulators. Are there small differences between the two?

Tell us something.: Having taken time out from the pipes etc to focus on trumpet for 12 years.
During that time, I suffered a subarachnoid brain haemorrhage and so, after rebuilding myself and coming to terms with my limitations, I'm now slowly getting back into my whistles and maybe pipes next year.

I may be wrong but I seem to remember that they both learned their craft from Cillian O'Brien. They both favour U bend bass reg and they both look similar, whether there are any differences, I'm not sure.
Andy is definitely active as I'm on his list for a full set so maybe worth calling/emailing him?
