Tricky bit

Post by bcullen »

Hi I have finished all the bits that make up a bass regulator. What I need to know is how to make a seal between the brass bass tube
and the valve stock. I have designed a removable bass reg that slides into a \ / like shape on the stock . Is there some sort of gromet fixed to the tube that slides into place over the hole in the stock. I have yet to drill the tube or stock

I use a thin piece of leather glued to the brass fitting on the stock, lubricated with a smear of vaseline, this makes a tight sliding fit between the two parts and an effective seal. Takes a bit of fiddling around to get an ideal thickness of leather but works well in the end.
