Maybe Bruce Childress in D . On second look the intials look to crudely done to be by the maker and its not in D .

I've seen that heart mark before ,but can't quite remember what/where.
Bruce de Vey? Or, on a chanter made by the other 80's make in Yorkshire M.B Wilkins?
Neither fit the apparent initials but..

I dont think they are the makers initials but maybe the former owners . He could have been in the military and got a bad conduct discharge ( bcd} and it broke his heart.

Ref. my last on this post:-
I am now reasonably sure (95%) that it is M.B.Wilkins mark, having thought through events where I have played one of his chanters, and seen a half set.
Let others confirm or otherwise. The chanter was a belter, if a little difficult to reed, but stonking when playing...

Thanks for the info Pipewort.
I don't normally post bellows info here, but given the number of times I see people looking for them on the forum,

From the advert:
"Made by the great masters David Quinn and Benedict Koehler whose bagpipes are the most copied in the world."
I would argue that the most copied in the world would be Kirk Lynch's design (at least the outward appearance), vast numbers of which are available from makers in the northwest corner of the Indian subcontinent.
$15k for a half set maybe a record by my memory.
