Cillian Vallely: Raven's Rock

Post by Murk »

Hey all -

Just thought I'd do you the courtesy if you'd be at all interested - as I was surprised to learn a couple days ago that Cillian Vallely released a new solo album in the last week.

It's also on iTunes.

I listened to a lot of Cillian's piping through my teenage formative years (via Lúnasa) and have always secretly hoped he would put out something like this. I've given it a listen - and it's quite a romp. Though many of the tracks are not just him and his pipes, his piping is front and center and always full of spirit. Bounce-ful might be a word for it. I know I certainly enjoy it.

I bought it last month when I happened to be in Custy's and it was just in. I'm enjoying it also.

If anyone in the states is interested, Cillian will be teaching pipes for three days in Texas this coming October:
