Hosting sound files

Hello all!

Anyone have any recommendations for where to host sound files online? I usually have my files in .wav format directly from my H2 ZOOM.

Preferably, I'm hoping to have a link where folks can click a link, and the audio file will come right up...

Box.net is the host of choice for many here. I like it. No direct linking, but it's friendly and popup and ad free.

Hehehe... I'm all for style points, but on public forums I usually leave url's as-is so people can see what they're clicking. :poke:

I'll have to see if I can convert my clips to MP3 on the H2, it takes over a minute to download a 60 second .wav file. :sleep:

yes, it is becoming a bit of an issue these days.....

I found a free .wav to MP3 converter here: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html

It made an MP3 file 1/10 the size of the original .wav file. :boggle:

Doesn't the Windows player convert to mp3?

There's always LAME ... which at least used to be the freeware standard. And lots of freeware wrappers for it, like Bonk.

I really like the WavePad Sound Editor that same with my wav/MP3 converter from that NCH Software link I provided above... I can edit the file, fade in, fade out, trim, add effects like reverb, compression, gate, equalizer, etc etc etc

I highly recommend taking at look at it. :thumbsup:
