probly's been covered, cant find in search eng...

does anyone know how I can put accents, uumlaats and other international phonetic test symbols in a post????

(XP, ie7)

the only thing I can find is the last post to this thread

the mechanics are:
Hold the alt key down and
type the character's numeric value on the key pad

No I looked for a table that matched the font we are using.....gave up.

Chas, I just use (or switch to) the US-International keyboard layout, and enter them directly. Very convenient. Characters in the Latin-1 (ISO 8859-1) 8-bit charset are recognized by the board software.

For occasional use, if you have a character mapper like the old Windows CharMap, you can just cut and paste via the clipboard buffer or equivalent on your machine.

If you're looking for actual IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) symbols in Unicode, I'll have to look that up. :-)

Should fire it up, if you're using one of Bill's beasties. I find I use it at least weekly.
