Is anyone else having font problems?

Post by avanutria »

With the upgrade came a kind of squished font, as viewed on Firefox and XP. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'll take a screenshot and add it to the post in a minute.

Here's the example. It's readable, but feels a bit squished together horizontally.

Taking a peek at the stylesheet (

Code: Select all

http://forums.chiffandfipple.com/styles/subsilver2/theme/stylesheet.css
), it looks like the body text is specified as

Code: Select all

"Lucida Grande", "Verdana", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif
. Your browser should work down the list in order, using the first match it finds, and in the end use any san serif font your system has.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Ah. I started to read that thread, but I appear to have stopped just before the subject of font came up!

Thanks. At least I'm not the only one!

I suppose if messing with style sheets isn't an option, an alternative would be to install one of the fonts called for by the forum? Would something that simple work?

Hehehe. I'll reserve it as a last resort.
