Notation plug-in?

Post by CHasR »

This is just pie-in-the-sky stuff,
(and I know NOTHING about "php BBcode", or whatever its called, )

How possible is it to fix-up some sort of notation tool to the forum;
so that
instead of having to say "eighth-note-lowA, then 1/6 lo b"
or any of that indecipherable 'abc' rubbish,
or making a jpeg out of a notation file and posting it online then linking it to the forum,

so that one could simply one day play/write in a couple of notes and have it post as notated, playable music for the benefit of chiffsters worldwide???

or am I just dreaming+ should go back to my hole-in-the-wall??? :-?

You would need something that would create the file (jpg or gif)
You would need somewhere to host the file

If you have the "abc rubbish" you could paste it at Concertina net and then
copy the output to your host and then
post the address of the file.

Yes, I understand that alright.
But, that would be the only way then? Seems there oughta be an easier road to rome...something wrapped in code (in the reply box) that would display as conventional notation, perhaps?
o well. just a thought.

I'd think that an add on that was capable of generating a graphic, from text, at run time, would be rejected by rich as a bit of a resource hog.
