I guess I was just curious how to read some of the odd ball characters but even when I open the source It seems to be a mystery.
Safari doesn’t show the dagger or code,
And SeaMonkey displays the dagger
I have also had problems pasting persian script on Safari (works in XP with mozilla), So I was just looking into the matter.
Example (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hezbollah )
??? ????
does not display correctly when cut and pasted
Edit to fix link and see if moxilla can enter حزب ال

Code: Select all
<td colspan="2"><span class="postbody">Yes and I saw all of the nice versions of it I can even cut and paste it, (?) I just cannot figure out if you can enter something like [unicode=2020] or <a>†</a> and have the figure pop up or what

The code ID displayed on an XP box running Mozilla when running it
Symboles look like they are under HTML format, and you can ger some HTML things work (that is how I got my sig to the right hand side) but some of the others have not worked, or perhaps turned off.
Just noodleing.

Wait,
HTML Entity (decimal) †
HTML Entity (hex) †
HTML Entity (named) †
HTML Entity (decimal) looks like the code to use. †
Thanks Denny that page came in handy. The symbol always shows up even with HTML off and inside the "code" function.
It looks like a full list is here.
Just be sure to use the "decimal" code.

verbalizing the question often causes the answer to appear!
Ma used to wake me in the wee hours, after some night run had crashed, to talk it through. About the 2nd cup of coffee she'd suddenly stop talking, smile, and let me go to back to bed.
It was years before I had any idea what she was talking about.
