sudden browser collapse

I realize that being a mac user makes me an oddity, but just wondering if anyone else has clicked on certain threads, had them open for a few seconds, at which point your browser window quits in a poof leaving you with your desktop and an apology from your computer. This is rare, but when it occurs it will occur repeatedly with the cursed thread.
Tried it on the kid's eMachine...no problems, no quit. Must be a mac incompatibility thing.

I use Linux and a variant of the Mozilla browser with absolutely no problems.

Have you tried Mozilla lately?

Far Freakin' Out! I just installed Mozilla (not on Linux, but on Mac OSX,) and amazingly, thus far, the browser is not collapsing!

I don't know why, but I like it! Thanks for the advice.

Mozilla works great in Windows as well, without all the security holes of IE.

I don't know if the variant mozilla-firebird is available for Mac/Win, but it is my favorite in Linux, replacing galeon (another light-weight variant of mozilla) for me. You might try a Google search and try them out if you don't need all the mail/newsgroup stuff of Mozilla.

I love the tabbed browsing and feel lost without it.
