Slow Down Recommendations for Mac

Post by JeffS »

It's been a long while since I've been in the market for a good slow down software program for my mac. What's good out there?

I've heard great things about Amazing Slow Downer as well, if you need something fairly basic.

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Amazing Slow Downer is excellent: Easy to use, well laid out, any option you're likely to want or need, performs flawlessly, including on Yosemite. $49.95 USD though, so not exactly cheap, but well worth the money IMO.

Audacity is a great piece of software for this, as well as many other things, and it's free, too. Just throw your music in there and go into effect -> change speed.

Shoot, didn't realize Amazing Slow Downer cost $$$.

Go with Audacity. Use Change Tempo if you don't want to change the pitch while slowing things down :)

Ah, yeah, forgot about that! :)
Audacity really is a fine editing tool, considering that it costs nothing - you can also use it for EQing, et cetera. I run Pro Tools as well, esp. for mixing, but I usually edit stuff on audacity because it is so convenient to do (PT can be a bit cumbersome).
