does anyone using apple products, have an equalizer app recommendation for my ipad. macbook?
found a few in the app store but don't know which to pick.
any other recommendation also appreciated, thanks

I asked a friend of mine, who said that the iOS built-in EQ controls are pretty good. Have you already tried those?

IOS has very limited qualizer controls, to my opinion.
what I am looking for is a visible equalizer wherer you can see what frequencies are being used while music is playing….
IOS doesn't offer this……you can only lower or rise the bass, midrange or trebles or use the pre-sets.

Ah, of course. You want an inline graphic EQ (or a parametric EQ) app with an octave band display. And I understand why that would be helpful for you.

Sorry Bertie, no takers. I can't help since I'm ignorant of iOS.

On your MacBook, I'm sure there's a full-featured audio editor (like Audacity for Windows) that includes the equalization and display functions you want. You may not be able to use it as an inline processor for your favorite music player application, but at least you could experiment with the EQ settings and play individual music files within the editor program.

If you want this as an audio analysis tool, in order to see a visual representation of the music, then I highly recommend Sonic Visualizer:

If you're really stuck on a 31 band representation (a bar graph), and if you have a smart phone, then look for an app called an RTA (real time analyzer). I use one made by Studio Six Designs, but it's not cheap because it's part of a larger package, but there are some you can get for free.
