I have a MacBook and want to get the Amazing Slowdowner. I am somewhat technologically challenged so I would like to know if the Slowdowner is relatively simple to use once installed. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Have you already done a board search for "slowdowner"? You'll find many, many comments in previous discussions which you might find helpful. Including the recent "Slow-Downer" thread in this forum.

it has a fairly straight forward user interface

I thought it was very easy to understand.

Many of the playback tools will slow down a recording, it takes a bit of poking around to find where the control for that is. The players also have a mixed bag for looping capabilities. (where you select a section of the recording to loop through) ASD has very easy to use loop controls (and a variable delay between loops).

Absolutely! I prefer transcribe because it is easier to mark starting an ending points of loops of sections to study and practice tunes etc.. ASD is better for general playback.

And if you're into open source you might want to check out Audacity which can slow down things as well (it is a sound editing program) I don't think its too hard to use - but I'm kinda the opposite of technically challenged

I've used Transcribe for a long time with success. I've recently come across another program in the same vein that may be worth looking into as well called TwelveKeys. Does anyone have experience with it that they could share?
