YouTube sound to MP3 on iMac

I have an older iMac running 10.5.8. I'd like to find an app to download the sound from YouTube videos to my computer as MP3 or MP4 so's I can run them through slow-down apps. Any suggestions?

If you're okay using the command line, my preferred solution is
youtube-dl with the -x ("extract MP3") flag.

I use a plug-in for Firefox called "Wondershare".

I use, also in Firefox, Video Download Helper in the past and was happy enough. Dpwnloaded it again a few days ago, it has a number of conversion options.
You do know Youtube has a 'speed' option? For the ones you don't want to download but still want to hear at half or quarter speed.
