Bhuel...Uaireanta. Ach níl sé níos mó ná bosca aráin de ghnáth.
Mar sin, níl sé níos mó ná bosca aráin.

Well....sometimes. But it isn't bigger than a bread box usually.
So, it isn't bigger than a bread box.

(for "usually" is it better to use de ghnáth or go hiondúil?)

1) Níl sé beo (it isn't alive).
2) Níl sé níos mó ná bosca aráin (it isn't bigger than a breadbox).

Either is fine for "usually." I tend to use "de ghnáth" because it's the first one I learned.

An bhfuil sé níos lú ná luch? (Is it smaller than a mouse?)

Bhí sé sa chistin a teacht mó máthair. Bhí sé i seomra eile i mó teach, ach anois níl sé i seomra amhain in mó teacht...gabh mo leathscáil!

It was in the kitchen at my mom's house. But it was in another room in my house, and now it isn't in any one room in my house...sorry!

Hmmm...I think I'd just fudge and say "is deacair a rá" ("It's hard to say")

An bhfuil sé déanta as miotal? (is it made of metal?)
