I checked the Guide to Irish Pronunciation before banging out this post, but I'm less than 100% sure. My best guess is that Mr. Ó Briain's name would be pronounced: "Done-sha O-Bree-Yawn" ( hopefully that conveyed accurately enough!). Am I correct?

I got it about one-third right. Thanks for helping me get the other two thirds correct!

You'll need a native speaker to confirm, and there might still be variation depending on accent, Republic or North, etc. I've seen some have the surname as O-breen, but I think that may be that they don't alway hear as another syllable.

Denis O'Brien, in English. Seems a little less Royal. Probably best to not even mention the English having any say.
