thanks. this is interesting. through the internet explorer browser, it's still, through google chrome, it's living and breathing.

Try refreshing your IE page cache with Ctrl-F5. Sometimes animated gifs get "stuck".

That didn't work but this evening, I'll restart the computer and do that again. Thanks for the suggestions.
