Silence actually hurts my ears. The longer I have to remain somewhere that is quiet, my eardrums and the blood pumping through the veins in my ears start pounding more and more and I have to get out of there fast. Even a somewhat quiet room has a sound like a hiss or distant crickets to me but that I can deal with. I occasionally have ringing in my ears. My Mom has this and it drives her absolutely nuts but I was so worried about this as a child so before this happened to me, I decided to make the best of it, so I add a beat and some rhythm and I got a song going on in my head. I can't attend silent adoration at church because of the actual pain of silence.

I've never been in a soundproof room and don't think I wanna.
Rose tint my world. Keep me safe from my trouble and pain.
