Just so you know, I couldn't see the picture. It was a "broken image"
type symbol... I could see it when I used the html code instead of
phpBB code, though:

but I can not...

I can View Image.

Perhaps the host server doesn't allow direct linkage.

...and once I have seen it, the images appear on the thread. (what just means that the browser is displaying the cached jpg rather that going outside to get it)

You're right. I reloaded, and got the bad image box for both phpBB
code and HTML. Then, after right-click-View Image, it came back.

I cleared my cache
now they's gone

Your quoting looked OK to me...
If you want the user's name to appear, add this after the quote:
="name"

Like so:

Or, you could just hit the "quote" button on the post you want to quote,
it fills all the requisite stuff in for you.
