Hi Folks,
i´m offering a Goulding & D`Almaine Flute from about 1830-1840.
It`s made of cocos wood and german silver, has 8 keys and is in excellent playing condition.
Pads are new (white leather), a crack over the whole lenght of the head and a short one at the end has been repaired, also a crack in the barrel. The latter one has been stabilized with 2 silver rings, everything is stable even after one hour (ore more) playing .
There is a tiny crack in the top end of the low part and one in the Bb block, both not affecting the playing.
Tuning optimized by closing the A and B hole a bit with black epoxy, the general tuning is very good now at 440-442 hz with the tuning slide out 6mm.
The pewters are working perfect, handling of the 3 foot keys is very easy.
This flute is not a honker, but a beautiful soft going player for irish or old music, both modifications (rings and epoxy) can be removed easy if you want the flute in the original state.
