Rudall Carte 8-key Flute number 7366. Marked Rudall Carte and Co. 23 Berners St. Oxford St. London

This flute has a new tuning barrel which brings it to modern (A=440) pitch. I need only a very slight extension of the tuning slide (3mm) to play in tune. Intonation is good across the first and second octaves with the A and B tending to be a little sharp. The holes are medium and spacing is fine for my, fairly average, hands.

Overall the flute is in good condition, pads are fairly new and seal perfectly. The stopper is nylon with an o-ring and moves easily if needed. The flute is Cocus with no splits or repairs. The flute has been regularly oiled. The replacement tuning barrel is blackwood and appears to be very well made. There is a colour difference between the new and original parts but it is only really noticeable in bright light (see photos).

Overall condition is good with a few marks as you would expect on a well-used flute - but please note the following (which I've tried to capture in the photos);
# there are some scratches on the C-natural touch
# there are some marks around the posts for the C-natural key
# there is a very small imperfection on the edge of the embouchure hole

I guess the case is original, it has plenty of character (ie. it's a rather tatty) and there's no key.

This is good session flute which just isn't getting enough use. The's a short recording here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nV8z4LHoArY (the flute is about 60 seconds in).
