There are no factory-made Chapman Sticks - they are all still handmade by Emmett Chapman and his team in Woodland Hills, CA.
They are extremely rare to find on even eBay and Reverb, much less Craigslist.

8 strings, tuned in 4ths, from 5-string bass all the way up into guitar range. Some folks tune the upper six to be in guitar tuning and use the lowest two as bass strings below guitar low E.

This can be played by tapping the strings to the frets (standard Chapman Stick style) or, with the flick of a nut-end damper, with open strings much more traditionally like a bass or guitar with fingerstyle or with a pick.
A VERY versatile instrument.
Check out the music of Don Schiff, master of NS Stick for more information.

This one has an Ash body dyed turquoise with recessed white grain treatment. High gloss clearcoat finish.
The neck is Wenge - luscious to play - with recon real turquoise dot inlays. Active EMG pickups and stereo/mono switch.
In excellent to new condition.
Complete with adjustment wrenches, stereo Y-cable, brown/black suede strap with straplock on the bottom end, brand new set of heavy gauge strings, and new soft case.

Price breakdown for new:
2,200 - NS/Stick
400 - high gloss finish
150 - soft case
47 - new heavy gauge string set
53 - strap with straplock
TOTAL: 2,850.00, shipping extra.

Asking $2,400, shipping included within the contiguous United States.
