The clarineau sounds like a clarinet (it uses a modern clarinet mouthpiece & reed) but uses same fingering and range as the soprano recorder.

The instrument is made from treated pearwood and measures 12.5" (including the mouthpiece).

Included with the instrument are:

• - mouthpiece with reed (plus 2 additional reeds, not used)
  - metal ligature and cap
  - padded carrying bag
  - cleaning rod with cloth
  - fingering chart

It has been played very little and is in excellent condition.
