Tell us something.: Playing flute for about 20 years... however, recently, due to surgery on my right hand I find it difficult to cover the holes in a flute, so, apart from a Boehm instrument, I'm not playing.

FS Beare & Son 8-Key flute in Cocus SOLD

Post by fsharp »

To Finance the purchase of a camera I'm selling the above flute
I bought it from Arthur Haswell a well-known dealer and repairer in the north of England.
I think it's cocus, and very in tune. The nickel silver keys work well, but I can't get the C or C# to play strongly, but that's probably due to my poor embouchure rather than the flute and there no cracks apart from a hairline in the second section from the bottom.
with the usual mahogany box and the usual missing key.
If interested I can send photographs
£550 plus postage

New Sound File!!
a couple of tunes on YT just type in Beare & Son flute.
The sound quality from my notebook isn't very good at all but it gives you an idea of the tuning etc

The flute is now on ebay for 7 days with a reserve of £400, and I will let the auction run its course, so that any purchase will now be via Ebay.
