Tell us something.: I'm back in the uilleann piping world after a ten year hiatus. Uilleann piping chops, here I come!

I'm a smallpipe and Border pipe maker and we'll just see where that leads to.

FS - Recording King RK-T36-BR Madison Tenor Banjo

Post by elbowmusic »

A great banjo. I believe it is a copy of A Gibson Mastertone. I bought this because it is basically a 19 Fret version of what Angelina Carberry plays. Has a bell brass cast tone ring just like hers.

It's one of the most popular (if not the most?) mid-range banjo for bluegrass players (with a five string neck of course). If you look for reviews on this banjo in the bluegrass world you'll see many glowing (and often pleasantly surprised) reviews. I suspect this banjo just isn't advertised to Irish players (Ive never seen it for sale set up GDAE) or I think it would be much more popular.

I've got it set up nicely for Irish playing. I really like the neck on this banjo.

I don't currently have a video of this banjo, but I'll try to make one. Here is the same banjo (and these videos are largely why I bought this banjo)

This banjo sells new for $1000. In good used condition I'm selling it with new strings and an upgraded bridge for $700 (or OBO). Plus shipping.

Here's the manufacturer's website:

I'm happy to send photos and make a video for anyone interested.
