Experimental RSS feeds available

Post by rich »

I've made a set of experimental RSS feeds for all of the main forums available:

Chiff and Fipple RSS Feeds

By "experimental" I mean:

that it has been only very lightly tested, and that things might not work as expected or might outright break;

that I'm not sure what sort of effect RSS readers polling will have on the site's bandwidth and database usage.

For the time being I'm counting on you to ensure your RSS reader doesn't refresh the feeds too often (half-hourly is the slashdot standard and seems appropriate). Please don't ruin things for others by having your reader refresh too often.

I've decided to cache all of the RSS feeds for now; this means that their URLs changed. The new URLs are all listed here.

(Told you that it was experimental!)

Hooray for Rich! Now I can spend 12% less time at work checking to see if anything new has been posted.
