Implant #8 Central incisor

Post by I.D.10-t »

Implant #8 Central incisor

Hazed by anesthetics
The oral surgeon removes
the ruptured stub of an old tooth

Titanium replacing bone
Fusing to bone
For the next 4 months

Eating carefully with fork and knife
Burritos and sandwiches
rinse with chlorhexidine gluconate
"Be not deceived by the sweet words of proverbial philosophy. Sugar of lead is a poison."

Thanks,

Technically, I think that the term erupted is used instead of ruptured, but it seems to be used in two different ways. Over all it could use some work, but it was fun to write.

For some reason, this reminded me of
something I heard this weekend on NPR's
"Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me". Apparently,
Ed Helms, who stars in the movie "The
Hangover" is missing a tooth. It was
convenient as the movie requires his
character to lose a tooth.

He also plays the banjo (the show's host
introduced him as "the 2nd most important
banjo-playing comedian in America") so he
made the obligatory "toothless banjo player"
joke.

I download it as a podcast on iTunes. A great
pick-me-up when I drive into work on Monday.
