Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

That nut is actually for cases in which the union nut has broken. You want to replace the nut, but don't want to take the whole pipe out. They make various normally one-piece things, like CV boots, similarly. It's a nifty idea, and has saved many people much money.

Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

I'd also prefer not to have split nuts....
