first quality alto recorder. huberII or Mollenhauer denner?

Post by simchaleh »

hey everyone. im new to this forum and would like to ask a question. i hope it hasnt been asked millions of times here.
i finally saved up and want to buy my first quality alto recorder.
the style i play is with often with a live band, klezmer/rock style music. and often in a different situation ethnic nature type music.
i looked online and was intrested at the antique music workshop website. they very much are reccomending the huber model II pearwood for me in my price range (around 350$ is what i have now for it). (which is actually what they also reccomended when i bought my soprano from them). im wondering if their biased in some sort on that model.
i was wondering if the mollenhaur denner (old or new model?) is better for my purposes and price ranges than the huber modell II. or if anyone here has any other ideas? thnks!
